For his on-going and significant contributions to TLMI and the tag and label industry as a whole, Scott Pillsbury, president of Portland, Ore.-based Rose City Label Company, has been selected as packagePRINTING's 2012 TLMI Converter of the Year. "I believe my greatest career milestone to date was leading our company back to a positive, profitable position after feeling the effects of the recession in 2008," he notes.

Product Highlights From Labelexpo Americas 2012

At Labelexpo Americas 2012, a steady parade of show attendees were treated to a wide array of new products and technology demonstrations. A major highlight of the show, the Label Industry Global Awards 2012, took place on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Steve Lee, vice president of technology at RotoMetrics, was honored with the prestigious R Stanton Avery Lifetime Achievement Award.

TLMI Reveals Label Award Contest Winners

TLMI's 2012 Label Awards contest showcased the industry's finest, with Napa, Calif.-based Collotype Labels USA taking the ultimate award as Best of Show with its offset-printed Le Pich, 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon wine label. The North American Innovator Award went to Whitlam Label Company for its flexo-printed Evidence Bag entry; and the The Innovator Award in the International category went to Germany-based Schreiner Group for its Pharma-Comb Void Label.
