At Labelexpo Americas 2012, a steady parade of show attendees were treated to a wide array of new products and technology demonstrations. A major highlight of the show, the Label Industry Global Awards 2012, took place on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. xpedx’s Fairfield, OH; Las Vegas and Phoenix sites earned the ENERGY STAR by scoring in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide for energy efficiency, based on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s energy performance rating system. These buildings use less energy, are less expensive to operate, meet strict energy performance standards and cause fewer greenhouse gas emissions than peer facilities.

xpedx’s Cincinnati Distribution Center on Reading Road has achieved a significant safety milestone by surpassing five years without an OSHA recordable incident. “Throughout xpedx there is a strong belief that all safety incidents are preventable, and that an accident-free workplace is achievable,” said Chris Baum, general manager, xpedx Cincinnati.

xpedx will open a new 320,000-square-foot mega-distribution center this fall in Aurora, IL. The facility will offer increased inventory, a state-of-the-art warehouse management system and an advanced, best-in-class package design center.
