UPM Raflatac has announced it received the Critical Guidance recognition from the Association of Plastic Recyclers for two if its new shrink sleeve film label products, RafShrink PO MDO 40 LS and RafShrink PO TDO 45 HS.

UPM Raflatac partnered with Labelexpo Americas at this year’s event in Chicago to provide a solution for exhibiting label converters to responsibly dispose of their label, matrix and liner waste and give it a new life in the form of energy.

UPM Raflatac has collaborated with Baumgarten, a Brazilian converter, on a life-cycle assessment of label material release liners. The results will be shared during Labelexpo Americas in Chicago.

Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics has won the UPM Raflatac Label Life Awards 2016.

UPM Raflatac recently installed new state-of-the-art production equipment at its slitting and distribution terminal in Ontario, California. This investment will help the company increase capacity and offer new products and services to companies located on the West Coast.

Competition was stiff among top high school performers from across North America in the Phoenix Challenge High School Flexo Competition. A total of 19 teams participated, a total which has grown every year since the Phoenix Challenge high school program began in 1998.

The REVO Digital Flexo Revolution collaboration of eight industry leaders has resulted in a new approach to flexo printing that may well delight flexo press owners. AVT, Adare, APEX, Dupont, ESKO, Flint, GIDUE and UPM Raflatac have teamed up to put the flexo printing process under digital control.

This year's Labelexpo Europe reported its largest ever edition with record-breaking attendance figures. In addition, numerous market exhibitors increased their presence at the event, and the debut of several new busy feature areas was highly successful.
