Spartanics has engineered and released the Roll-to-Part Laser Die Cutting Solution. The Roll-to-Part Laser Die Cutting System is best suited for label converters that have a need to extract through cut parts and labels; most useful for label converters handling sticker and decal orders.

Spartanics, which is best known for its laser diecutting systems, is launching a new high-speed, semi-rotary label converting solution. The SR350 Semi-Rotary Label Converting Solution features 350mm wide semi-rotary and full-rotary diecutting options with auto back scoring and more.

TLF Graphics, a producer of labels, labeling systems, decals and related products and services, has added a Durst Tau LFS 330 UV Inkjet Digital Label Press into its operations.

Tennessee-based Graphic Label Solutions (GLS) was seeking an alternative to its existing label production process. The company was using screen printing as well as a wide-format printer to produce labels. But as run lengths shortened, the screen printing process became cost-prohibitive, and digital wide-format printing lacked the throughput needed to meet demand. In addition, GLS was seeking new business, a more efficient way to finish its work, and sought an environmentally sustainable solution to match the company's desire to have as small an environmental footprint as possible.

Returning to Rosemont, Illinois September 9-11, the 25th anniversary of Labelexpo Americas remains dedicated to label converters and has been expanded to cover package printing and areas of interest for brand owners.

In a new development from Durst, the Tau 330 Digital UV Inkjet label printer can be outfitted with the LFS 330, a laser finishing system from Spartanics. This will provide increased productivity and a complete digital end-to-end workflow. The laser die cutting technology incorporates a 1,000 watt laser and provides for automatic job changeover, handling multiple jobs in a single run. UV coating and lamination can be added for further finishing options.

Laser diecutting is rapidly changing the way products are manufactured throughout the world. Within the past seven years, laser diecutting has a growing number of supporters due to cut quality improvements; increased throughput speeds; and savings in tooling costs, waste material, and job changeover. At Labelexpo Americas 2012, a steady parade of show attendees were treated to a wide array of new products and technology demonstrations. A major highlight of the show, the Label Industry Global Awards 2012, took place on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Steve Lee, vice president of technology at RotoMetrics, was honored with the prestigious R Stanton Avery Lifetime Achievement Award.

INX International Ink will introduce its new AquaTech ION™ Label ink systems at Labelexpo. Also on display will be the NW140 UV digital narrow web press with inline laser cutting from Spartanics. INX will also highlight a wide variety of tag and label products at the show, including INXFlex™ ITX free process inks.
