This year's Labelexpo Europe reported its largest ever edition with record-breaking attendance figures. In addition, numerous market exhibitors increased their presence at the event, and the debut of several new busy feature areas was highly successful.
The R. Stanton Avery Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Avery Dennison, recognizes the values and vision of Stan Avery and his pioneering efforts. The recipient of the 2013 award was Tomas Rink, president Ritrama Group.
Minneapolis-based Ritrama and Avery Dennison’s Fort Wayne, IN division have recently been awarded L.I.F.E. (Label Initiative for the Environment) certification from TLMI. “With 36 TLMI member companies now L.I.F.E. certified and more in the application process, we will surpass 40 L.I.F.E. certified companies in 2013 and that is an outstanding achievement,” said Frank Sablone, TLMI president.
During the course of TLMI's four-day annual meeting in Naples, Fla. last month, TLMI Chairman Art Yerecic, president of Yerecic Label, presented attendees with some upbeat stats, along with several awards for Converter of the Year, Supplier of the Year, and several Environmental Leadership awards.
TLMI has reported a highly successful Annual Meeting, with more than 400 attendees, 100 supplier table top exhibits, the highest representation of converter companies in years, and outstanding support from 40 meeting sponsors. The winners of the 35th Annual Label Awards Competition were also announced—22 different members won for printing excellence in various categories.
This year’s AWA Label Release Liner Industry Seminar, held in Chicago, did not disappoint. A full program of papers, plus a lively Q&A session and a tabletop exhibition, made the day a real forum for information exchange among industry participants, who came from many corners of the world and many levels of the label release liner value chain.
TLMI announced the availability of a mobile phone application as a free download for the TLMI Technical Conference being held in Chicago September 6-8.
Following recent stops in Florida in January, 2011, the Gallus ECS 340 will be on the road once again, stopping first in Dallas, Texas for a demonstration with Pitman for two days, on March 29 and 30. Then, on April 5, Harper Corp. will hold its Northeast U.S. road show at Gallus’ facilities in Philadelphia.
