QuadTech has formed a partnership with the Gallus Group to provide closed-loop color control and color measurement systems for its offset, flexo and gravure presses. Utilizing QuadTech technology, Gallus customers can quicken makeready and offer ultimate print quality and productivity, with inline color management.

QuadTech's Autotron 2600 Register Guidance System with ClearLogic is now a standard feature on Cerutti Packaging and Equipment's gravure packaging presses. This approval follows joint development tightly integrating the QuadTech Autotron register system into Cerutti’s press controls.
The cooperative effort ties together in-line spectral data obtained from QuadTech, ink formulation data from X-Rite, and ink dispensing technology from Huber Group. “We’re combining the advantages of in-line and off-line color measurement to significantly reduce press downtime and waste,” said Randy Freeman, QuadTech’s vice president and general manager of packaging.

QuadTech claims its new SpectralCam HD colour measurement system could make offline colour measurement of web-fed packaging film "a thing of the past". The new system’s high definition viewing capability is said to facilitate easy on-the-fly detection of dot abnormalities such as pin-holing, bridging, doughnuts and halos. Images are captured at 2,500dpi and made instantly accessible through the Icon user interface, "so that dot quality detail can be analyzed by the human eye as soon as ink is transferred to the substrate". "The operator has reassurance that dot abnormalities will be detected to a much higher standard than was
