Nu Tech Coatings Recieves Patent for Polymer Application
September 7, 2007

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.—A U.S. patent has been awarded to Nu Tech Coatings for a unique polymer application utilized on existing or newly manufactured print cylinders. A .375 polymer coating is applied directly to a plate cylinder, which allows the flexographic plate to be mounted with .005 tape. The coating acts as a shock absorber and eliminates plate to substrate impression as a variable in the printing process. As a result of this ability to over impress the plate without the usual negative consequences, make ready times are dramatically reduced, press speeds are increased, substrate waste and press downtime are substantially improved. As an added

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.—A U.S. patent has been awarded to Nu Tech Coatings for a unique polymer application used on existing or newly manufactured print cylinders. A 0.375 polymer coating is applied directly to a plate cylinder, which allows the flexographic plate to be mounted with 0.005 tape. The coating acts as a shock absorber and eliminates plate-to-substrate impression as a variable in the printing process. As a result of this ability to over impress the plate without the usual negative consequences, makeready times are dramatically reduced, press speeds are increased, and substrate waste and press downtime are substantially improved. As an added benefit, gear
