Xeikon, one of the world leaders in digital package and label printing, together with its Aura partners, is hosting the Xeikon Café for Packaging Innovations at its headquarters in Lier, Belgium from March 10 to 12. Michelman has been awarded a $2.5 million Ohio Third Frontier Industrial Research and Development Center Grant for its new R&D center, Michelman Advanced Materials Collaboration Center. TAPPI has selected its three new Board of Directors for 2012. They are: Michael Exner, (RockTenn), Steven J. Shifman (Michelman, Inc.) and E. Clayton Teague (National Nanotechnology Coordination Office—Retired). Elected to begin their three-year terms in March 2012, they will join Norman F. Marsolan and Thomas J. Garland who continue to serve as TAPPI Chair, and TAPPI Vice Chair, respectively.

HP introduced the HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Press, which is designed for versatility and productivity in label and packaging printing applications. It is capable of printing more than 40 linear meters (131 linear feet) per minute in full color and features a new in-line priming unit.
