Printing Industries of America has released more information about the eight technologies recently selected to receive a 2011 InterTech™ Technology Award. The independent panel of judges deliberated over technology nominations ranging from plates and digital presses to a variety of production and management software. Great strides in technology were demonstrated in packaging software, inkjet printing, workflow automation, offset press efficiency, UV curing, and variable-data printing. Technologies were selected from those nominated for a variety of reasons, but the judges felt they all met the award criteria of being truly innovative and expected
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill.—Komori America Corporation announced that effective March 31, 2007 it will assume the sales and service responsibilities for the territory previously covered by Atlantic Graphic Systems, Inc, Columbia, Md. This includes Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia; a portion of eastern Pennsylvania; and the Washington, DC area. The entire United States will now be serviced directly by Komori America. “Over the past several years, our strategy has been to bring those areas of the US that were handled by our dealer network under the Komori America umbrella. RESTON, Va.—NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies elected a new chairman of its board as well as a new director at its Annual Conference October 9 in Key Biscayne, Florida. The new chairman is Thomas Saggiomo, President of Agfa Corporation's Graphic Systems business in North America. He was elected to the NPES board in 1998, and is the 26th chief executive officer elected to the chairman's post in the Association's 72-year history.
