PRINT 13 and CPP EXPO had a successful five-day run in McCormick Place. "Two common themes seemed to be repeated by attendees and exhibitors alike at the show this year," reported Ralph Nappi, president of the Graphic Arts Show Company. "First, a sense of optimism existed that has not been evidenced in our industry for a few years; the second was the surprising number of deals that were inked at the show."
At Labelexpo Americas 2012, a steady parade of show attendees were treated to a wide array of new products and technology demonstrations. A major highlight of the show, the Label Industry Global Awards 2012, took place on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Steve Lee, vice president of technology at RotoMetrics, was honored with the prestigious R Stanton Avery Lifetime Achievement Award.
INX International Ink will introduce its new AquaTech ION™ Label ink systems at Labelexpo. Also on display will be the NW140 UV digital narrow web press with inline laser cutting from Spartanics. INX will also highlight a wide variety of tag and label products at the show, including INXFlex™ ITX free process inks.
In conjunction with the Printing Industries of St. Louis (PISTL), a half-day OSHA Compliance Crash Course will be held on Wednesday, July 25 from 8 am to 12 Noon. The course will include a written safety agenda checkup and will cover what must be in writing, critical items that sometimes are overlooked and important elements that OSHA will check during an inspection.
