PALO ALTO, Calif.—Traco Manufacturing Inc., a printer and manufacturer of shrink films, machines, and equipment, has installed an HP Indigo press ws4500 to increase its ability to offer customers high-quality printed shrink sleeve products with a fast turnaround time and customization.
Prior to installing the HP Indigo press ws4500, Traco offered printed shrink sleeves and film produced overseas with rotogravure technology. The Orem, Utah-based company decided to install the digital press based on increased customer demand for faster turnaround times, customized text and images and shorter run lengths.
CHICAGO, Ill.—Dscoop4, the 2009 Dscoop Annual Conference that was held Feb. 19-21 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, was a success, according to organizers. Despite the bleak economy, attendance at the event increased 8 percent from 2008 with 1,300 attendees, partners, and HP representatives.

ORLANDO, Fla.—HP announced that its HP Indigo 5000, 5500, and 7000 digital press models have become the first digital color production systems to earn General Requirements for Applications in Commercial Offset Lithography (GRACoL) certification. The new GRACoL certification enables customers to economically produce certified proofs on their HP Indigo digital presses as well as use their presses for complete production runs. HP will offer a GRACoL implementation service—a two-day, on-site consultation to establish certified proof production on an HP Indigo press using CGS ORIS PearlDIGITAL 170 proofing paper, CGS ORIS PRESS MATCHER PRO color management software, and the X-Rite iSis XL spectrophotometer.
