Hammer Packaging has become the first North American customer to purchase Heidelberg’s new Speedmaster CX 102 press. The Rochester, N.Y.-based company is among the largest producers of high-end package decorating in North America.

The 1000th machine has left the assembly line at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG’s (Heidelberg) facility at Qingpu near Shanghai. The machine is a Speedmaster CD 102 with four printing units.

Combining some of the innovations developed for its Speedmaster XL 105 press with the long-standing success of the Speedmaster CD 102 platform, Heidelberg USA hosted some 100 commercial, label and package printers at its headquarters for the North American launch of the Speedmaster CX 102 press.
