DuPont Packaging Graphics (DuPont) recently installed a second DuPont Cyrel FAST 3000TD processor at Bemis Graphics, part of Bemis Co., the largest flexible packaging company in the Americas. The Cyrel 3000TD installations allowed Bemis Graphics to completely eliminate solvents and transition to a large-format, high-volume thermal Cyrel FAST workflow that provides high-quality flexographic plates to 17 Bemis printing locations. The complete story of the conversion and collaboration will be presented on October 21 during the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) 2014 fall conference in Minneapolis.

Designed to enable brands and packaging press specialist to accurately predict spot colors, GMG OpenColor has won high-level recognition. The new version of GMG's proofing technology, OpenColor 1.1, improves measurement data import and makes it easier to adjust profiles and dot gain.

Over the past six months, Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) has welcomed 156 new members to its membership roster, 85 of which joined in the first quarter of 2013 alone. New members have cited networking, education and visibility as primary reasons for joining.

More than 500 entries from Flexo printers around the world were evaluated in the 2013 Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) Excellence in Flexography Awards. The awards were presented at the FTA Forum & INFO*FLEX show in San Diego. Two days before he passed away on February 23, 2013, Gary Hilliard, past chairman of Foundation of Flexographic Technical Association’s (FTA) Board of Trustees, learned of his pending installation into the FTA Hall of Fame.

Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) has selected John Crammer, general manager of Best Label, as the sole recipient of the 2013 FTA President’s Award. According to the organization, Crammer has demonstrated an ongoing strong commitment to the goals and objectives of the Association and Foundation.

GMG, Berry Plastics and Mark Andy took top honors at the Flexographic Technical Association's 2013 Technical Innovation Awards ceremony. GMG placed top in the prepress-graphics category, while Berry Plastics and Mark Andy were the honorees in the heavy machinery classification.
