Relative to digital printing for packaging, drupa 2008 was a time for investigation and generalized discussion regarding product concepts and market requirements.

At Labelexpo Americas 2012, a steady parade of show attendees were treated to a wide array of new products and technology demonstrations. At Labelexpo Americas 2012 in Chicago next week, Xeikon will showcase several new products, technologies and solutions that are designed to enhance Web-to-label integration and improve production workflow, while helping printers reduce their printing costs and diversify into new applications and services.

ADFLEX Corp. in Rochester, NY, has installed a new FLEXCEL NX Wide System to produce larger plates, expand its client base, add new services, and fuel its own growth. It is reportedly the first site in the northeastern United States to install the new device.

The union between Kodak and EFI will provide print service providers with a fully-integrated solution that allows them to manage jobs for multiple offset and digital devices from a single user interface.

Since the last drupa held in 2008 the suppliers of digital solutions have become even more important and reflect the mega-trend of digitization. In six halls, drupa 2012, held at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany, will show everything concerning digital printing, workflow, or Web-to-print applications, just to name some important examples.

At drupa 2012, Kodak will demonstrate its ongoing commitment to the industry and customers by unveiling 10 new digital solutions and more than 30 industry partners that enable printers to offer customers new applications and improve operational efficiencies.
