Kester Imaging installed the MGI JETvarnish 3D, adding to its creative design and decorative print enhancement outsourcing services, which help other commercial printers around the country strengthen customer relationships with special effects.
MGI Digital Technology has integrated Memjet's DuraLink printing technology into its new AlphaJET B1 Inkjet Printing and Embellishment press. This is the first 40-plus-inch sheetfed press to integrate the DuraLink inkjet printheads, ink and modules, as well as the first five-color digital printing system to offer decorative special effects.
MGI will present the new AlphaJET Industrial Print Factory during the Paris All4Pack Exhibition, taking place from Nov. 26-29. The B1 inkjet printing and embellishment platform includes white UV pigment ink, in-line substrate sheet priming, 2D/3D UV clear varnish ink, variable embossed foil effects and more.
Esko and Scodix have announced a collaboration to include Scodix packaging enhancement applications within the Esko Studio suite. The applications include Scodix Foil, Scodix Embossed Foil, Scodix Sense for UV embossing and Scodix Spot for varnish applications.
The first Scodix E106 to be installed in North America is heading to TPC Printing & Packaging, a paperboard packaging printer in Chattanooga, Tenn. The new machine will replace TPC's Scodix UltraPro with Foil, which it installed in May of 2017.
Matt Bennett has been named to the position of VP of sales and general manager of Highcon Americas. Bennett has previously worked in various positions with AVT, HP and Heidelberg, and will be responsible for sales operations in the United States and Canada.
