Air Motion Systems has expanded its portfolio of LED-based curing solutions by rolling out a new compact, low-profile LED-UV curing module, the XD series. The XD series made its North American debut at Labelexpo Americas and is suited for low- and mid-speed flexo presses.

Phoseon will reveal the new FirePower FP601 water-cooled LED curing solution for narrow-web printing at Labelexpo Americas. The FirePower FP601 features reduced power and cooling requirements and provides a high peak intensity of 20W/cm2.

The LED Curing Symposium, hosted by Phoseon Technology, Siegwerk and Mark Andy, will focus on educating flexo converters and printers on the benefits of LED curing. The Symposium will be held Thursday, April 28 in Lincolnshire, Ill.

Just a few years ago, UV LED curing technology was not a viable solution for most package printers and converters. Though the technology was purported to offer several benefits, including increased uptime, the ability to cure dense colors and substantial energy savings, LED compatible ink had not yet broken onto the scene.
