Digital Printing-Inkjet Sheetfed

The fourth-annual Digital Packaging Summit will be held from November 5-7 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., building on its mission of connecting digital packaging equipment suppliers and package printers for three days of education and networking. Atlas Die, Barberán, MPS and Label Traxx are the latest suppliers to join the 2018 event as sponsors.

Heidelberg and Gallus will exhibit together at the same booth during Labelexpo Americas 2018. During the show, Gallus will unveil the Smartfire digital label printing system and Heidelberg will demonstrate its Omnifire 250 4D inkjet digital printer.

Mid-America Display is the latest destination for the EFI Nozomi C18000, a single-pass, direct-to-board digital press. Mid-America Display is the custom product display and signage division of St. Louis corrugated packaging provider Boxes, Inc.

Dusobox Corp., an Orlando, Fla.-based printer of corrugated packaging and displays, has purchased the first HP PageWide C500 press to be installed in the United States. The single-pass, direct-to-board, inkjet press is expected to be installed this summer.

Calling the area the "Silicon Valley of New Hampshire," EFI CEO Guy Gecht officially opened EFI's new 220,000-sq.-ft. inkjet facility on Tuesday, May 8, in Londonderry, N.H. The facility will house EFI's U.S. inkjet business and will position the company closer to the talent pools in Boston and Manchester, N.H.

Alliance Packaging, a corrugated packaging manufacturer with locations throughout the Northwestern United States, is adding an EFI Nozomi C18000 direct-to-corrugated digital press to its Seattle headquarters. It marks the ninth Nozomi transaction and shipment as of the end of March 2018.

Kodak recently hosted a two-day gathering of about 250 customers, Kodak personnel, and trade media representatives at the company’s historic manufacturing complex in Rochester, N.Y. Led by Kodak CEO Jeffrey Clarke, senior executives gave a state-of-the-company report that outlined Kodak’s current business strategy and detailed its progress in developing solutions for print markets.

EFI and Australian packaging innovator Orora Limited, have announced an expanded global partnership that includes Orora’s purchase of two EFI Nozomi C18000 single-pass LED inkjet corrugated packaging presses that are scheduled to be installed at Orora facilities in Melbourne, Australia and in Los Angeles.

Corrugated Synergies International (CSI) and EFI made news last week with the announcement that CSI is the first company to purchase the EFI Nozomi C18000 digital press for corrugated, along with the full EFI corrugated packaging platform. Jeffery Dumbach of CSI shared additional insight into the company's decision.
