Denver-based Warneke Paper Box recently began installation of the new Heidelberg Primefire 106, the first installation of the device in the U.S. The device will allow the package printer to expand its business to provide targeted short-run packaging and added security to cartons through variable content.

Heidelberg hosted more than 400 guests from all over the world at its recent Packaging Day at the Wiesloch-Walldorf site. Heidelberg's digital solutions were on display, including the Primefire 106, which is now installed in Heidelberg's Print Media Center Packaging.

More than 70 Heidelberg customers from around the world traveled to Multi Packaging Solutions' Obersulm, Germany location to witness the premiere of the Heidelberg Primefire 106 hybrid press. Multi Packaging Solutions is the first commercial user of the Primefire 106 in the 70x100 cm format.

During last week's Heidelberg Packaging Days event, Stephan Plenz of Heidelberg led a session looking at the future of packaging and the steps that Heidelberg is taking to address needs in the evolving packaging industry.

The Heidelberg Primefire 106 hybrid press for the folding carton market was the star of the show during the Packaging Day event held from Nov. 8-9 in Wiesloch-Walldorf, Germany. Customers and journalists learned about the technology from both Heidelberg executives and users of the press.

The third annual Digital Packaging Summit will provide opportunities for converters, brand owners and suppliers to network and share their perspectives on digital printing in packaging. The Summit will be held from Oct. 23-25 at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

The Heidelberg Primefire 106 and Prinect Press Center XL 2, which were both launched at drupa 2016, have earned an iF Design Award from the International Forum Design. The award recognizes achievements in a variety of product design categories.

Multi Packaging Solutions (MPS) is the first pilot user of a Heidelberg Primefire 106 seven-color digital inkjet press. The pilot phase commenced in January and the system is part of a major investment program at the site.

Color-Logic has announced the certification of the Mark Andy Digital Series hybrid press for the Color-Logic process. By achieving the certification, the Mark Andy Digital Series increases its special effects printing capabilities.
