Koenig & Bauer Durst has announced that the VariJET 106 hybrid press will begin beta testing at a customer site early next year, prior to its formal unveiling at drupa 2021. The press is among the results of the joint venture between Koenig & Bauer and Durst, which was established last year.
The companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which Anderson & Vreeland will sell the Xeikon line of dry toner and inkjet-based digital label presses in the U.S. and Canada. The move exponentially increases Xeikon’s sales strength in North America.
Arkay Packaging of Roanoke, Va., will become the second U.S. location to install a Heidelberg Primefire 106. The company will utilize the seven-color, 40˝ B1-size inkjet press to enhance its position in the luxury packaging market.
The partnership will result in the HP Indigo Digital Pouch, a system that allows HP Indigo customers to expand their offerings in product packaging.
