A year after the KODAK FLEXCEL NX Ultra Solution went into production at Dion Label Printing, John Dion has a very positive verdict on the solvent- and VOC-free flexo plate making solution.

Philadelphia-based Lincage Imaging Systems, a packaging pre-press and flexographic platemaking specialist, has become the first company in the U.S. to receive best in class certification under the XPS Crystal Program from Esko.

Renovations at the Windmöller & Hölscher Technology Center have been completed, including moving their in-house prepress technology – a KODAK FLEXCEL NX Ultra Solution from Miraclon – to a brand-new plate room.

As the market moves towards more sustainable substrates, XSYS is introducing the nyloflex FTM Digital plate, which enables printers to use water-based inks on coated and uncoated paper for aseptic food packaging and corrugated preprint liner.

Miraclon has announced the appointments of Dr. Reid Chesterfield as chief technology and innovation officer and Dr. Zaki Ali as chief technology advisor to the CEO, affirming the company’s commitment to innovation and expanding the executive leadership of the Technology and Innovation organization.

All Printing Resources has installed a Fujifilm Flenex FW water-wash plate system at McCracken Label in Chicago. Flenex FW is a water-washable flexo plate that provides the highest print quality and productivity.

In a move that “brings together what belongs together,” the Flint Group Flexographic and Xeikon Prepress divisions have joined forces to form XSYS, a new division within Flint Group. With this restructuring, Flint Group stated it is now better positioned to offer tailor-made prepress solutions to its customers.

Indianapolis-based PRP has become the first graphics business in North America to invest in Optics 100v2, the new fastest single head plate imager from Esko. The Optics 100v2 delivers a 25% increase in productivity for corrugated plate imagers.

The technology-focused center features end-to-end Esko solutions for packaging prepress and printing, from its CDI Crystal XPS 4835 imager and exposure unit to the Kongsberg X24 Edge for plate cutting.

OEC Graphics added two KODAK FLEXCEL NX Systems from Miraclon to its portfolio; one at its site in Vancouver and the other in Chicago, for a total of four across its facilities. The new equipment will enable OEC Graphics to continue expanding its innovative solutions and keep up with growing customer demand.
