Xeikon Shows Digital Printing Presses at Pack Expo
ITASCA, Ill.—Xeikon, a supplier of digital color printing technology, announced that the company will display the unique label and package printing capabilities of its versatile Xeikon 3000 Series of digital color presses at Pack Expo, from Sept. 26-28 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Xeikon will be exhibiting at booth S-5935, located inside “The Brand Zone,” which caters to brand managers, package designers and open innovation executives. The company’s unique label and packaging samples will demonstrate the flexibility of the Xeikon 3000 Series of digital label presses. Xeikon’s booth will also include a workflow exhibit area, housing its industry software partners, such as EskoArtwork and Prisme Technologies.
“Building a successful brand means creating labels and packages that deliver visual impact. The Xeikon 3000 Series offers an unbeatable combination of outstanding image quality and high productivity to help brand owners and converters produce highly differentiated applications,” said Michael V. Ring, president of Xeikon America Inc. “At Pack Expo, brand owners, along with packaging and label converters, will see the exceptional results possible with the Xeikon technology.”
Equipped with high-precision LED-based imaging heads, the Xeikon 3000 Series features true 1200 dpi resolution and 1200 x 3600 dpi imaging addressability with variable dot density, generating excellent image quality. The Xeikon 3000 Series presses come equipped with five color stations: four for the standard process colors and the fifth for the use of spot colors for gamut expansion and brand color matching. The fifth station can also be used for applying a special security toner for anti-counterfeiting applications, and a ‘one-pass’ opaque white toner to create the much desired ‘no-label or label-less look’ on transparent films.
The Xeikon 3000 Series also takes advantage of Xeikon’s X-800 Digital Front End. Based on open standard, the X-800 can be integrated into any production environment. Its modular set up allows label printers to manage different production elements in the most efficient manner. Prepress functions, such as impositions and color management, can be performed in the prepress environment, allowing the press operator to focus on production. The X-800 also allows easy inclusion of metadata functionalities, such as sequential numbers and/or barcodes.
