Mayor of Woodbridge, NJ Visits Multi-Plastics' Avenel, NJ Facility
AVENEL, NJ—June 6, 2012—Multi-Plastics Extrusions hosted Mayor John E. McCormac on May 29, during a company celebration as a VPP Star Site with 0.00 recordable incidents for the year 2011. The Voluntary Protection Programs of OSHA recognize employers and workers in the private industry who have implemented effective safety and health management systems and maintain injury and illness rates below the national Bureau of Labor Statistics average for their respective industries. The Avenel, NJ facility has been a VPP Star Site for the past 10 years for outstanding safety performance.
In addition to safety, the Avenel, NJ facility was first noticed by Mayor McCormac because of an Environmental Stewardship award given to the location in January 2011 by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. This was in recognition of its voluntary and proactive measures taken to go beyond compliance in an effort to improve the environment and ensure a sustainable future. Multi-Plastics Avenel participated in three categories including environmental policy, green building implementation and process/operations energy use reduction.
