The following is a short list (with explanations) of some of the features you may need or want to look for in your prepress system software.

Image editing—Separate software or functions within prepress software that allow the operator to make changes to an image, such as adding or removing elements and changing colors. Other editing functions include rotating an image and increasing or decreasing its size.
