TAPPI and AICC, co-producers of the mega corrugated event SuperCorrExpo (SCE) 2021, have announced the addition of a fifth and final keynote speaker, David B. Sewell, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WestRock Company.
Sewell joins four other distinguished speakers, including Greif Inc. President and CEO Pete Watson. Rounding out the speakers are Duncan Wardle, former Head of Innovation and Creativity at Disney and founder of id8 & innov8, Co-founder and CEO of Tanjo, Inc. Richard Boyd, and Jim Morris, athlete, author, teacher, and inspiration for the movie “The Rookie.”
Having joined WestRock Company as chief executive officer in March 2021, some of Sewell’s key areas of focus are sustainability and innovation to deliver the next generation of fiber-based packaging solutions. He joined WestRock from the globally recognized brand, Sherwin-Williams, and is bringing new perspective, while also leveraging the $18 billion company’s extensive and differentiated portfolio and award-winning talent.
While at Sherwin-Williams, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for all operating segments for the $18 billion global coatings company. He joined the company in 2007 and held leadership positions of increasing responsibility, including president, Performance Coatings Group; president, Global Finishes Group; and President and general manager, Product Finishes Division. Sewell also has more than 15 years with General Electric in the Plastics and Advanced Materials Division. He is a member of the Board of Directors of WestRock, Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland Playhouse Square. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Southern California.

SuperCorrExpo 2021 takes place August 8-12 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. Considered one of the most influential corrugated packaging-focused trade shows in the Western Hemisphere, SCE brings together producers and suppliers from around the globe. There are 17 planned sessions, 25-plus hours of educational material, eight very special relationship-building events, and more than 240 exhibitors expected, many with working equipment and live demonstrations.
