Weber Marking Systems Looks Back on 75 Years
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.—Weber Marking Systems, which was founded as a small addressing machine company in 1932 and is now a worldwide manufacturer of labels and labeling equipment, is celebrating its 75th year in business in 2007.
“There are numerous reasons why a company prospers over the years,” said Joseph Weber, Jr., chairman and son of the founder of the company that today has grown into a worldwide manufacturer of pressure-sensitive labels and labeling systems. “I credit the foresight and loyalty of our employees, the competence and innovations of our partner-suppliers and, of course, the business and support that we have received from our customers.”
Weber Marking Systems pioneered the use of many methods of product identification over its 75-year history, including direct marking using handprinters; manual and electronic label printing machines; and computer-based label printers and applicators that produce labels with text, bar codes, graphics and even radio frequency identification (RFID) encoding.
“I am proud of Weber Marking Systems,” Weber added, “and I am grateful for the successes we’ve experienced over the years.”
