HiFlow Solutions, an international business and production process software provider for the packaging industry, announces its partnership with Wausau Container Corporation. Wausau Container Corporation specializes in custom paperboard packaging and operates a 100,000 sq ft plant in Wausau, Wisconsin.
Wausau’s forward-thinking principal, Amy Plier, believes that adding new technology will proactively manage and grow Wausau’s business by streamlining processes end-to-end -- from sales and customer service to production to accounting and invoicing.
Plier’s goals for a management system were to replace the legacy system with tools that would make life easier and more productive for her employees and managers. Additionally, it was necessary for an MIS system to integrate with already existing prepress and accounting programs. She also wanted visibility into job workflows, warehouse and inventory, and an MES system which collects deep data from a variety of sources to provide real time reports. A tall order.
However, HiFlow fell in line with Wausau’s goal of future proofing their folding carton business. Plier called out several of HiFlow’s features:
It integrates with Wausau’s other internal software solutions
- Pre-press software (Hybrid)
- Accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics GP)
Its customizable and graphical reporting offers Wausau business insights
- Customizable dashboards using Microsoft’s Power BI
- Extensive production, warehouse, and sales reports
HiFlow leverages technology – to give Wausau the tools and data it needs
- Scalable - comprehensive, integrated, and automated Industry 4.0 solution
- Scada monitors - tracks plant productivity and operator performance in real time
- Smart scheduling to best utilize machine time
- Extensive tooling library
- Machine Execution System (MES) module – real time data exchange with machines and devices
Finally, what helped seal the decision to adopt HiFlow’s system for Wausau was the people who composed HiFlow’s team. According to Plier, HiFlow “outworked the competition.”
“The team of Mariusz (HiFlow’s CEO), Romek and Lucas (part of HiFlow’s development team), and Jack (HiFlow’s VP) were on every demo call, and answered every question, one by one, in the deep dive demos. HiFlow showed to us that they were interested, thorough, engaged and attentive to our specific needs as a packaging business.”
