Despite all of the emphasis brands and consumers are placing on recycling, plastic packaging finding its way into the world’s oceans continues to be a major problem. Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of how pressing this problem is and are actively seeking ways to help put an end to it. In its annual list of Global Packaging Trends, market intelligence agency Mintel, explains that growing awareness of this specific concern will be a major driver behind packaging sustainability efforts in 2018.
