Air Motion Systems Receives Innovation Award
RIVER FALLS, Wisc.—Air Motion Systems (AMS, www.airmotionsystems.com) announced it received the 2009 Innovation Award from the Wisconsin Business Development Finance Corporation, the State’s largest provider of SBA-backed financing, and the 11th largest such provider in the nation.
Each year, Wisconsin Business Development (WBD) recognizes outstanding businesses in Wisconsin that have distinguished themselves through innovative products and services, and recognized its 2009 award winners during its annual and regional meetings throughout the state in January.
Air Motion Systems was selected for the award based on its commitment to development and innovation in the field of UV curing systems and technology, including the success of its P3 UV system for the commercial printing and packaging markets, and for introducing new technology in the field of LED-based UV curing.
“We are thrilled to receive this award from one of Wisconsin’s most recognizable organizations in the area of business development,” said Steve Metcalf, president and CEO of Air Motion Systems. “WBD has been an important part of the growth and innovation for so many companies in the our region, including AMS, and we are proud to be recognized in this way.”
AMS recently launched the industry’s first high-powered LED-UV curing system based on a new generation of UV LEDs (light emitting diodes). The patent-pending system, known as PEAK LED-UV™ produces twice the irradiance of comparable devices, uses as little as 20 percent of the energy of a conventional UV lamp system, and can cure inks and coatings at the distances required by high-speed applications.
Air Motion Systems is a founding sponsor of the upcoming Print UV 2010 Conference (www.printuv.com), a conference exclusively dedicated to UV printing in North America, and scheduled for March 7-9 in Las Vegas.
