Raflatac Announces Service, Sustainability Initiatives

MILLS RIVER, N.C.—UPM Raflatac, a full product line supplier to the wine industry, announced a new 24-hour service offering to the Napa Valley, Calif. region. Customers can now take advantage of next day delivery of the company’s wine labelstock products if their order is placed by 12:00 noon PST. According to the company, customers can depend on UPM Raflatac’s 99 percent delivery accuracy to fulfill just-in-time orders, without maintaining excess or aging inventory in stock.

UPM Raflatac’s wine labelstock product range for the American market now includes products compatible with HP Indigo technology. The company’s wine adhesives include RS30, which affixes permanently after three hours and passes the ice bucket test, and RW110F, which provides permanent adhesion and warm water wash-off. All of UPM Raflatac’s wine paper facestocks are wet strength and all of the company’s wine labelstock products are available with either a 44# PK or a PET liner.

UPM Raflatac also achieved IS0 14001 certification for its Mills River, NC labelstock factory as well as its environmentally friendly RafEco product line, which includes ENVI®, an FSC-certified, 100 percent recycled content, premium smooth, ultra white, wet strength wine face paper.

In addition, the company’s Dixon, IL labelstock factory has successfully completed an ISO 14001 certification audit and has been recommended for certification. The facility uses proprietary technology and streamlined processes to reduce waste, minimizing the environmental impact of its labelstock manufacturing operations.
