PPC Forums Includes Tour of Local Packaging Plant
SPRINGFIELD, MA—September 6, 2012—From Nov. 13-15, 2012, the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) will conduct its popular Financial Executives Institute and Human Resources Forum at the DoubleTree Hotel in Chattanooga, TN. These two events are designed for paperboard packaging converting and supplier financial executives and human resources managers. The three-day event will focus on topics of interest to each group and the middle day will not only focus on topics relevant to both but will also feature a tour of local packaging plant Southern Champion Tray.
Of special note is the presentation by TalentQuest Executive Consultant Dr. Ann Bowers-Evangelista. Evangelista specializes in executive assessment, leadership development, high-potential identification, and succession planning. At the combined FEI/HR session on November 14, she will describe how best to handle generational differences in the workplace and how to incorporate an employee’s unique attributes into one’s organization.
The Financial Executives Institute (November 13) will kick off the three-day workshop by exploring the benefits of cloud computing. Month-end closing best practices and innovative tips for preventing information overload will also be discussed.
The Combined FEI/HR Session (November 14) will be of interest to both financial executives and human resources managers. The day will begin with a tour of Southern Champion Tray’s state-of-the-art facility. Following the tour, the group will master best practices in fair compensation rubrics and learn how healthcare reform and other upcoming legislation may affect one’s plant.
The Human Resources Forum (November 15) offers relevant discussions for human resource executives, with a focus on enhancing management skills. Topics include how to deal with an aging workforce and how best to maintain the skills and knowledge base of retiring senior staff. The latest tools and techniques used in digital interviewing will be presented and pre-employment screening best practices will be shared.
“Attendees will find this year’s FEI/HR Forum topics of exceptional value,” noted Ben Markens, pPresident of PPC. “And thanks to Southern Champion Tray, participants will be given the invaluable opportunity to tour a cutting-edge converting plant.”
