TruColor Vision Systems, a provider of sampling based inspection systems for the web-based printing and converting industries, and OneBoxVision (OBV), a research, development and design company of modular vision solutions for the web and sheet industry, have entered into an agreement to form an alliance that will broaden the product portfolio and enhance the range of inspection system solutions for all TruColor customers, end users and OEMs.
Under the agreement, OBV will provide TruColor Vision Systems with ImageFlow, a software engine and machine vision suite for comprehensive 100 percent inspection solutions, which are customized to meet the specific needs of the printing industry. The partnership enables TruColor to broaden its inspection system solutions to now include 100 percent full web width inspection of every print repeat and serve as the OBV print market sales arm while ensuring TruColor remains a comprehensive inspection solution provider in the web based printing and converting industries. Additionally, the alliance further broadens TruColor’s reach into the non-print (surface) inspection and sheet fed markets.
“We are pleased to announce that TruColor and OBV have joined forces," said Jim Doerr, president and CEO of TruColor Vision Systems. "OBV’s long standing expertise in the field of 100 percent inspection technology and their ImageFlow engine is a perfect complement to TruColor’s latest sampling digital inspection system technologies. Our exclusive partnership with OBV helps complete the full range of inspection system capabilities offered by TruColor. In addition to sampling inspection systems, automatic viewing systems, the TruColor product range has come full circle with the addition of true 100 percent inspection. TruColor is pleased to announce the new TruColor API 100 with technology powered by ImageFlow. The API 100 inspects the entire surface of the printed web – every repeat, on any web width, at any machine speed – true 100 percent inspection. It automatically detects the full spectrum of typical print defects including misregister, dirty print, skip outs, spots, incorrect characters, streaks, scratches, splashes, hazing/scumming – all classifications of defects. Certainly, this new partnership only strengthens TruColor's long time commitment to providing inspection system solutions that help today’s press rooms reduce waste, increase productivity and contribute to an increase in profitably.”
