Trident North America Attributes Growth to MacDermid’s LUX Technology
TORONTO—November 3, 2014—Two years after installing a MacDermid LUX Plate Processing System in its Mississauga, Ontario, premedia operation, Trident North America says it is using the LUX Process on more than 80 percent of all customer orders. The decision to invest in the technology stemmed from a desire to deliver higher quality and more consistent flexographic print.
The LUX platemaking process produces flat-top dots on flexo printing plates, enabling printers to improve their print quality and consistency, making flexo more competitive against digital, gravure and offset printing processes. Currently, there are more than 200 LUX installations around the globe.
“LUX technology delivers a consistent flat-top dot which we see in the positive feedback from our CPG customers,” says Edward Broadhurst, director of manufacturing at Trident. “LUX is the only flat-top dot solution that allows for an engineered plate surface to reduce mottle and improve solid ink density.”
