TRESU iCoat Provides Flexo Technology Alongside Digital Workflow
The TRESU iCoat post-print coating system uses flexo technology to protect and enhance digitally printed sheet-fed substrates, including folding cartons.
The system can be run as a standalone unit or can be integrated inline to form a single-pass print/converting operation. The iCoat will be on display at Graph Expo, operating near-line with an HP Indigo 10000 digital press, a 29.5˝ system capable of printing light folding carton applications.
“Analog printers increasingly recognize the need to invest in digital processes, to meet the need for variable data printing, personalized prints and short production runs," said Scott Hibbs, president of TRESU Americas. "TRESU iCoat offers the basis for a productive and quality-assured digital workflow, with its fast throughput, diverse substrate compatibility and unique ability to apply UV- and water-based flood and spot varnish coating in tight registration."
The system can run a minimum of 5,000 sheets/hr. on board substrates between 180 gsm (121.6 lb.) and 500 gsm (337.8 lb.). Other features available on the iCoat include corona treatment, quick-change sleeve technology, and the ability to switch from UV to aqueous varnish in a matter of minutes.
