TOMORROW: Improve Your Plant's Automation and Color Control
Short runs, quick turnaround times and SKU proliferation are all driving the need for package printers to streamline their operations and get more jobs out the door. By increasing automation in the production process, converters may find that they can turn more jobs around, cut costs and improve their color control. It's that last part that's so essential. No matter how quickly a package printer can complete a job, if the color quality is not up to par, all that effort will be negated.
Additionally, as converters are seeking process improvements, many are turning to UV-LED technology. When this technology first hit the scene, one of the top concerns was the availability of ink that would work with UV-LED. Not only are UV-LED inks now readily available, converters may find there are several advantages in implementing them in their operations.
Tomorrow, packagePRINTING will host "The Secrets of Automation and Color Control," a webinar sponsored by Bobst that will dive into these topics and give you the information you need to know about automation, color control and UV-LED inks. We have two expert speakers ready to share their insights with you and field questions. Dr. Bruce Myers, an assistant professor in the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology will discuss automation and color control. Dr. Myers teaches a variety of courses at RIT and counts color management among his areas of expertise, having held multiple positions in the industry, including with X-Rite and Agfa Corp.
Niklas Olsson, the global brand manager for Flint Group's Packaging and Narrow Web division, will discuss the important aspects of UV-LED inks that converters need to be aware of. Flint Group has been among the leaders in the development and implementation of UV-LED inks for a variety of printing processes, including narrow-web flexography. With more converters giving the technology serious consideration, Olsson will provide an overview of UV-LED inks, including important color control information.
