Introduced at Labelexpo 2014 in Chicago, the Label Academy offers narrow web converters and industry suppliers a training and education tool that addresses the different components of printing and converting. The TLMI Learning Committee has announced its endorsement of the program.
“The committee is pleased to endorse the Label Academy as an industry specific learning tool that offers immediate benefits to both TLMI converter and supplier members,” commented co-chairs Cheryl Caudill and John Bennett.
The Label Academy consists of a series of self-study modules, relevant technical articles, videos and comprehensive text books available in both printed and electronic formats. Once a student has completed a module, there is an opportunity to take an online exam and earn a certificate. The program currently has five books and four modules available including Label Design and Origination, Conventional Label Printing Processes, Digital Label and Package Printing, Environmental Performance and Sustainable Labeling, and Label Dispensing and Application Technology.
The Label Academy helps employers implement a more professional recruitment, training and employee development program. It also offers a way for sales personnel to become more knowledgeable and competent in creating a more technical approach when working with customers and prospects. Employees who use the program gain transferable skills and knowledge that allow them to explore new job opportunities.
All TLMI members receive a 20 percent discount on Label Academy exams and can register for free at www.label-academy.com.
