CPP 2006 Leads the Way
Converting & Packaging Expo 2006 is shaping up to be a major event for the converting/package printing marketplace, including flexible packaging, folding carton/boxmaking, corrugated converting, tissue converting, and narrow web/tag and label. CPP EXPO, taking place Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 at McCormick Place, Chicago, is positioned as a meeting place for equipment manufacturers/suppliers and converters/buyers alike. The changes and evolutions in package printing (from digital prepress and workflow solutions to finishing equipment) make attendance at CPP EXPO an important educational experience.
With co-location and cooperative marketing efforts in place with PACK EXPO International (produced and managed by PMMI), CPP EXPO and leading industry associations come together to produce an extensive offering of equipment, products, services, and supplies. Bringing the supply chain together in a unique fashion continues to be the cooperative goal of this collective industry group.
Educational programs that take place over the course of four days include:
• Coating & Laminating - three-part presentation: “Top 11 Steps to Prevent Defects;”
• Adhesive & Sealant Technology for Flexible Packaging/Labeling and more: Part I – Formulations; Part II – Applications;
• Web Handling Parts I & II; focusing on the foundations of web machine design and control with special emphasis on rollers & tensions;
• Slitting & Rewinding Fundamentals for Converting/Packaging Professionals;
• “How to Choose the Right Integrator for Your Industry;”
• Product Safety Practices & Risk Management: Contributing to the Machinery Manufacturer’s & User’s Bottom Line.
In addition, the “CONFERENCE at PACK EXPO” features 63 sessions in four tracks over the course of three days with industry leaders’ keynotes highlighting the programming daily. Featured keynoters include Harris E. DeLoach Jr., chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Sonoco Products Company, and Dennis McGrew, president and chief executive officer of NatureWorks LLC. Aligning with PACK EXPO International in 2006 allows CPP to tap into the 50,000 packaging professionals in attendance—many of whom influence purchases of converting/package printing solutions. This audience is international in scope with 6,000 buyers representing 75 countries.
Whether the market niche is in prepress, tag and label, corrugated, folding carton, finishing, flexible packaging, security in packaging materials, or substrates/materials, CPP EXPO is designed to bring the industry together and will feature quality partnering at its best.
