The Robinette Company Invests in W&H MIRAFLEX Press
LINCOLN, R.I.—Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation has sold a 52˝ (1,320 mm) 8-color MIRAFLEX® CM printing press to The Robinette Company of Bristol, Tenn., where it will be installed next to its other two W&H presses in the spring of 2009.
W&H’s MIRAFLEX® CM was developed for economical, high-quality CI flexo printing and introduced at INTERPACK 2008 and drupa 2008. It is a good fit for The Robinette Company, a full-service flexible packaging and specialty converting manufacturer serving the food, beverage, construction, textile and health care markets from two modern 100,000+ sq.ft. facilities in Tennessee. “We chose the MIRAFLEX® for several reasons: large diameter winders, high speed, fast changeovers, and the excellent W&H support,” explained Joe Robinette, president of The Robinette Company.
The MIRAFLEX® CM features 8-color decks, a maximum material width of 52˝ (1,320 mm), and a maximum printing width of 50˝ (1,270 mm). The production speed is 1,640 fpm (500 m/min) and print repeats range from 14.6˝ – 31.5˝ (370 – 800 mm). The press includes W&H’s next generation of inline slitting and second generation of EASY-SET for automatic setting of impressions, 51˝ winders, Turboclean 600A modular wash-up system, and a new design of carbon fiber doctor blade chambers for use with water-based inks.
