Tageos celebrated the opening of its new U.S. headquarters in Fletcher, NC, on May 15, 2024, marking the beginning of a fully expanded manufacturing presence in the United States.
With a current global annual capacity of 9 billion RFID inlays and tags, the French RFID powerhouse can already produce more than 2 billion units per year in the heart of the fast-growing American market. By the end of 2024, Fletcher will have expanded its capacity by another 2 billion units to a total of more than 4 billion units per year. The new site will enable the company to produce innovative RAIN RFID (UHF) and HF/NFC products with the highest ARC-certified quality and performance in high volumes. RFID has gained momentum in the U.S. in recent years as major customers have begun or expanded their widespread adoption and implementation of RFID.
With the opening of the plant in Fletcher, Tageos has fully implemented the plans it presented just over a year ago. The company had announced its intention to internationalize and expand its production infrastructure by opening two new sites - Fletcher, USA and Guangzhou, China - and at the same time expanding production capacities at its headquarters in Montpellier (France).
State-of-the-Art Manufacturing for a Rapidly Growing Market
The new facility at the Quality Point site in Fletcher houses sales, administration and customer service offices as well as 20,000 square feet of manufacturing space, equipped with state-of-the-art production lines for the latest technology in RAIN RFID (UHF) and HF/NFC inlays. Around 60 people are already employed in Fletcher, and the investments made amount to "several million dollars", according to Tageos and the local authorities.
On opening day, the company introduced itself as a new corporate citizen in Henderson County with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Local, regional and state officials and partners who have supported the project from the very beginning were invited to join Tageos’ employees at the new location to celebrate the grand opening in an informal setting.
Guests of honor included Rebecca McCall, Chair Henderson County Board of Commissioner, Preston Blakely, Mayor of the Town of Fletcher, Brittany Brady, President & CEO, Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development as well as representatives from the Office of Thom Tillis, US Senator North Carolina, the Office of Roy Cooper, Governor of the State of North Carolina, and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina.
Supporting customers where they are
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Chris Hykin, Tageos Inc. GM, said: "We are delighted to be in Fletcher, North Carolina, and thank everyone for the support and warm welcome we have received. Our new facility is another strong pillar within the Tageos family and our global manufacturing network. It brings us even closer to our customers in the U.S. and all regions of the world, enabling us to even better support them with fast, highly efficient and sustainable delivery capabilities for high performance products and improved customer services."
