Swiss Pack Canada, a leading producer and innovator of high-quality flexible packaging, is installing the HP Indigo Pack Ready Lamination solution to work with its HP Indigo 20000 digital press to produce the “fastest package” in North America.
Founded 10 years ago as a packaging fulfillment house, the Burlington, Ontario-based Swiss Pack saw an opportunity to save time and costs by creating its own packaging production line. It installed Canada’s first HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press for flexible packaging in July 2016.
Now, a year later, with the commercial availability of the HP Indigo Pack Ready Laminator and Pack Ready Film, Swiss Pack is taking its next step as a packaging innovator.
“Swiss Pack will be able to save up to two weeks in production time by bringing lamination in house, and now provide North America’s fastest end-to-end packing solution from design, printing, converting and packaging fulfillment, all under one roof,” said Philippe St-Cyr, GM of Swiss Pack.
Swiss Pack signed for the laminator in May at Interpack 2017 in Dusseldorf, Germany, where the commercially developed product, manufactured by Karlville, was announced by HP. Swiss Pack will become the first Pack Ready lamination customer in North America.
The Pack Ready lamination solution for HP Indigo digital presses delivers high-quality, high-performance laminates without the use of adhesives, with zero curing time for immediate pouch converting, thereby opening new market opportunities for digitally printed flexible packaging.
An end-to-end, high-quality, fast packaging solution with digital printing and lamination is especially suited to keep up with growing SKU (stock keeping unit) demands, new products, small quantities, and market testing, added St-Cyr, whose main clientele for HP digital packaging solutions includes the premium food market, healthcare, and pharma.
Swiss Pack Canada specializes in stand-up pouches, coffee bags, custom printed pouches and three side seal pouches including flat and pillow pouches, with a goal to maintain high quality while minimizing environmental impact as much as possible.
