Superior Packaging Purchases Landa S10P to Support Growing Business and Higher Print Volumes
Landa Digital Printing and Superior Packaging and Finishing has announced that Superior has purchased a Landa S10P Nanographic Printing Press. Superior, which provides digital printing, packaging, book manufacturing, and ecommerce solutions to customers throughout North America, says that its 41" format, widest color gamut, and perfecting capabilities are a few of the features that make the Landa S10P uniquely suited to not only support Superior’s current growth, but to also drive higher print volumes and expand the company’s service portfolio.
Donny Charlebois, CEO and owner of Superior, says that the Landa S10P couldn’t come at a better time. “Today, more brands are joining the Superior family than ever before, and as a result, we need more press capacity across the board for commercial jobs, folding carton, specialty, personalized jobs… you name it, it’s all coming in.
“It’s incredible to find one press built to not only handle the special requirements of each application, but to also produce any combination of these jobs at such high speed, with unbeatable quality," he adds. The Landa S10P Nanographic Printing Press in double-sided B1 format utilizes the Nanography process for unprecedented advantage, including reproduction of up to 96% of Pantone colors when using 7 colors, 6,500 sheets per hour speed, compatibility with all off-the-shelf substrates, robust data/print solutions, digital printing solutions, and easy integration with workflows and other upstream and downstream systems.
Superior’s Chief Technology Officer, Kieran (Toby) McManus, says that the most stringent quality specifications are often required for the promotional materials and consumer goods Superior produces for the entertainment industry. “In the entertainment segment, similar to beauty and fashion, packaging has tremendous value of its own. So, it must be strong, but it must also be gorgeous. Pristine. The Landa does the job beautifully.”
McManus confirmed that Superior had been looking at a Landa press since Drupa 2012. “We’ve always been at the cutting edge of technology; looking at what’s next and what’s best,” he says. “The Landa press is exceptional: it ups the ante on quality, format, color, speed, and data. As a result, we’ll be able to migrate mainstream customer jobs to digital, with the full range of production and personalization opportunities the industry can offer.”
Sharon Cohen, Chief Business Officer of Landa Digital Printing, compliments Superior on its ability to deliver such a large and unique mix of print, specialty, and package printing. “Superior is a highly versatile, first-class provider that insists on nothing less than the finest production on behalf of its customers. We are thrilled to welcome Superior to our large, fast-growing family of Landa press owners, and excited about the advantages that the Landa press will provide them in the market. We are proud to partner with Superior in their continuous journey of innovation and productivity.”
