Spinnaker Coating Partners with Screen Americas for Substrate Testing

Spinnaker Coating, a manufacturer and service provider of pressure sensitive paper and film products for the printing industry, has announced a portfolio of products tested and approved by Screen Americas for use on its Truepress Jet L350UV inkjet digital label press.

“Because of the importance of the growing digital market in the label industry, we are focusing on our partnerships with digital press OEMs so that we can have an in-depth understanding of the equipment, the digital process, and the requirements for digital labelstock," said Joel Ulrich, digital marketing manager. "All of these things help us to be an educated resource for our customers as they navigate through their digital journey. As we continue to grow our digital portfolio, we are excited to build this partnership with Screen Americas.”

Spinnaker currently has approval on 10 facestocks, which translates to just over 60 constructions – all available Trimless with a single roll, 3” x 5,000’ minimum. Labelstocks tested and approved on the Truepress Jet L350UV model include: semi gloss paper, 2.0 mil TC clear BOPP, 2.3 mil TC white BOPP, 2.0 mil bright silver metallized BOPP, holographic rainbow PET, among others. “We have experienced great success with our materials on Screen’s equipment,” added Ulrich.

“Our customers tell us they chose the L350 because they couldn’t compromise on image quality, reliability or speed and we know it only makes sense that they won’t compromise on labelstocks either," said Ken Ingram, vice president of sales at Screen Americas. "Spinnaker Coating’s commitment to quality construction and selection of materials, finishes and sizes gives our L350 customers the ability to meet the demanding requirements of the short-run and print-on-demand label market.”

Screen Americas uses Spinnaker material as its main labelstock for its press demonstrations.
