Specialized Packaging Group Named 2007 NMSDC Supplier of the Year
HAMDEN, Conn.—The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) has named the Specialized Packaging Group, Inc., (SPG) 2007 Supplier of the Year. SPG was selected from more than 15,000 eligible minority businesses across the country. The award recognizes SPG as one of the most successful and innovative minority-owned businesses in America. Carlton L Highsmith, founder and president of SPG, will accept the award at the 2007 Annual NMSDC Business Conference and Awards Banquet being held on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The prestigious NMSDC national supplier of the year awards are presented annually to minority-owned businesses who have demonstrated steady growth in sales and employment and who have distinguished themselves by providing world class products and services at competitive prices. Award recipients are also recognized for contributing to the growth and development of their communities.
The NMSDC, one of the country’s leading business membership organizations was chartered in 1972 to provide increased procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes. The NMSDC Network includes a national office in New York City and 39 regional councils across the country. There are 3,500 corporate members throughout the network, including large publicly-owned, privately-owned and foreign-owned companies, as well as universities, hospitals and other buying institutions. The regional councils certify and match more than 15,000 minority owned businesses with member corporations for purposes of enhancing minority business development.
