Smyth Companies Purchase the First Kocher + Beck UR Precision for North America
DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY—May 8, 2012—Smyth Companies of Minneapolis, has approved the first set of UR Precision automatic transfer machines from Kocher + Beck, GmbH, for shipment to the USA. The machine acceptance was performed at drupa, on the show floor at Kocher + Beck’s stand (Hall 11/C68).
“K+B has done a great job. We are very excited to take delivery of these machines,” said Scott Farkas, director of New Product Development at Smyth. “The technology that K+B has built into their equipment is very impressive and will fit well with our new Gallus RCS installation.”
“This shipment to Smyth is a very significant milestone for Kocher + Beck,” according to Karin Enderle, sales manager of New Business Segments for Kocher + Beck. “This will be our first installation outside of Europe. We are very humbled that a company with the reputation of Smyth has chosen the UR Precision machines for their plant in the United States.”
Jim Ward, vice president of Engineering for Kocher + Beck USA added, “The market’s response to the UR Precision automatic splicers and rewinds has been overwhelming. This particular order is very significant because it proves that the value of these systems stretches well beyond Europe.”
Kocher + Beck GmbH, Pliezhausen, Germany, the world’s leading producer rotary die‐cutting tooling, introduced the UR Precision line of automatic splicers and rewinds in 2010. Kocher + Beck has manufacturing facilities in Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and Russia.
