Smartpress Expands, Looking to Grow Staff
Smartpress, a 100% employee-owned online printer, is scaling up operations with a new production facility in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. This expansion boosts the company’s printing capabilities and aims to streamline shipping for customers across the East Coast. By strategically positioning its facility in this high-growth region, Smartpress can now deliver nearly 75% of its products via ground shipping within two days.
The area’s dynamic population growth and skilled workforce drove the decision to establish roots in South Carolina. “Spartanburg County is an ideal location for adding production capacity to keep up with our customer demand,” said Matt Chapman, Smartpress vice president, in a written release announcing the new facility. “This expansion brings us strategically closer to our customers on the East Coast.”
With this move, Smartpress is also making a significant economic impact by adding 150 jobs to the region. The company’s recruitment efforts aim to attract top talent eager to contribute to Smartpress’ ongoing innovation in print production. “I’m excited about bringing Smartpress’ culture to a fast-growing area with a talented workforce,” Chapman added.
