Slitter/rewinders from Converting Machinery Technologies feature "spacerless" rewind mandrels which aid in changeover downtime and during normal operation. Offloading carts and cantilevered mandrels are also offered. For knife changes, an automatic positioning option is capable of repositioning 30 knife sets (score, razor, or rotary shear) in less than 90 seconds. Positioning tolerance is within .003˝. Other standard devices which enhance operation are microprocessor-based controls, touchscreen operator interfaces, roll lifting arms, and shaftless unwind systems.
