Shrink sleeve label equipment supplier partners with Clemson for printing education

The Institute is one of the nation’s first formal collaboration between the disciplines of packaging science and graphic communications. It will focus on innovations for the next generation of packaging professionals and will place Clemson University among the world-class institutions serving the future of the printing and packaging industries.

The Sonoco Institute at Clemson University will feature Karlvilles’ K1 Seaming Machine. With this machine, students, faculty, and research staff will be able to test and run shrink sleeve processes effectively. The K1 Seaming machine achieves speeds up to 100 meters per minute and is able to process Shrink PVC, PET, OPS, PLA films.

Furthermore, the Sonoco Institue of Packaging Design and Graphics will offer training programs for technicians to help companies improve their quality and expertise in the area, as well as giving them the opportunity to train with some of the best equipment in the shrink sleeve application and shrink sleeve converting industry.
