Shorewood Packaging Opens Design and Development Center
NEW YORK, N.Y.—Shorewood Packaging, a business of International Paper, announced the opening of its new Design and Development Center in Carlstadt, N.J. Shorewood customers will benefit from the enhanced collaboration, speed-to-market service and personalized account support that Shorewood will provide from this new facility, which is just 20 minutes from New York City.
“We set out to create a showpiece facility that would provide Shorewood with a distinct point of differentiation in our industry. Our primary goal is to provide our customers with a unique environment that addresses their needs, from the beginning to the end of the packaging cycle,” says Duncan Watson, vice president, Shorewood Creative Services. “We have brought together a group of talented people in various disciplines to take full advantage of the natural synergies that these areas enjoy.”
The new center combines the knowledge and expertise of Shorewood’s design and development teams which have transitioned from its Edison, Harrison and Montvale, N.J., locations, as well as a portion of its Thorofare, N.J., P.O.P. display staff to one central location.
Shorewood Packaging’s new Design and Development Center is home to:
• Shorewood Digital’s state-of-the-art electronic prepress and digital workflow;
• Shorewood Creative’s supply of innovative graphic and structural packaging design solutions;
• Shorewood Display’s cutting-edge retail merchandising design solutions;
• Shorewood’s dedicated packaging and P.O.P. display sales, customer service, estimating and marketing team members.
The opening of the Shorewood Design and Development Center in Carlstadt brings the number of the company’s packaging design centers that offer a range of services to six. The other centers are located in Los Angeles, Calif.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Newport News, Va.; Toronto, Canada; and Guangzhou, China. These centers dovetail with Shorewood Display’s three creative hubs in Carlstadt, Los Angeles and Thorofare.
This announcement aligns with Shorewood’s recent commitment to a global investment program that includes the installation of new equipment at several of its facilities and the opening of two new manufacturing operations, one in Shanghai, China, and the other in Torun, Poland.
