At the recent PRINTING United Expo in Atlanta, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (Sharp) previewed its new BP-1200S 6-Color Press by utilizing Color-Logic software to produce sparkling metallic embellishments and special effects.
Using Color-Logic software with silver toner and CMYK, Sharp demonstrated metallics on conventional stocks, making samples available to PRINTING United Expo attendees. White toner and CMYK was used with Color-Logic software to produce similar embellishments on Ecofoil metallic stock. Both these processes enable printers to differentiate their clients' direct mail, labels and packaging, certificates, and other commercial print applications.
Using Touch7, also distributed by Color-Logic, Sharp printed swatch books highlighting its new bright pink toner. The swatch books, distributed to show attendees, were produced in a single press pass yielding 380 fluorescent and pastel colors., using the Touch7 Neon Color System. Sharp also produced and distributed Touch7 print samples demonstrating how, with just a few mouse clicks in Photoshop, pink toner can be added into images to create dramatic oranges and reds.
Speaking about the Sharp press presentation, Color-Logic Director of Sales and Marketing Mark Geeves said: "Color-Logic is pleased to have partnered with Sharp in their BP-1200S PRINTING United Expo preview, and we are particularly gratified that Sharp elected to print live at the show. With Color-Logic, printers can be equally confident when dealing with clients and their agencies."
