SGP Partnership Celebrates First Anniversary

SEWICKLEY, Pa.—The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) celebrated its one-year anniversary. With nine certified printers to date, and more than 50 SGP applicants in the program (and more companies in the process), the SGP Partnership is looking ahead to its second year. “We have had an exciting first year, and see many more opportunities for growth and improvement in the years to come,” states Karen Gross, executive director of the SGP Partnership.

In addition to launching the on line application process in August 2008 and streamlining the application process, SGP identified and seated an 18 member Board of Directors, with the first official board meeting held in March.

The Patron Program has grown as well,with the addition of HP as a Platinum Patron. Other patrons include Durst, Dupont, BCM Inks, Environmental Inks & Coatings, Explorer Pressroom Solutions, Flint Group, INX International Ink Co., MacDermid, Mohawk Fine Papers, Pace Industries, Reliable Paper Recycling, and Xcel Products. Through the support of these companies, the SGP Partnership is able to keep fees low for printers to participate in the program.
