NASHUA, N.H.—CMM show management has announced that bielomatik, J&H Printing Solutions, Propheteer, BST Pro Mark, Martin Automatic, DMS, and Alden & Ott Printing Ink will be some of the leading companies showcasing their latest equipment at the Show’s new Narrow To Mid-Web Converting Tech Center at the Rosemont Convention Center, June 4-7 in Rosemont, Illinois.
Designed to help converters better understand how they can combine both narrow and mid-web converting technologies, the new Technology Center will feature operating equipment from leading manufacturers producing various jobs during the entire four days of the Show. Produced in conjunction with DiTrolio Flexographic Institute, select conference and training sessions combining the two types of printing will also be offered.
bielomatik will feature its RFID, high-speed smart label machine that will demonstrate high volume HF/UHF smart label converting. Built on a modular platform, the machine will have the ability to assemble rolls of blank or pre-printed labels and rolls of transponders in order to produce smart labels. As part of this process bielomatik RFID machines incorporate a final test of the product.
“Attendees will be able to witness high volume smart label converting taking place during CMM. bielomatik offers an entire product line capable of producing HF and UHF smart labels, tickets, and cards. Additionally, bielomatik offers ‘remove and replace’ equipment to enable rolls of 100 percent functioning smart labels to be produced as well as options to program information to chips,” said bielomatik V.P. of Sales Max Golter.
J & H Printing Solutions, Inc., a private label distributor of flexographic printing and converting equipment manufactured in China, will showcase a JH 1300, 13˝ wide, eight color press. The press can run labels, film, and thin gauge board stock. Additionally, the press has a corona treater, cold foil stamping, two rotary die stations, a slitter, a sheeter, and a shingling conveyor.
“We consider CMM as our best opportunity to introduce the western world to our equipment,” said President Mat Jones. “Visitors to our booth will discover the newest line of equipment now available on the world stage.”
Propheteer will be exhibiting a five color Propheteer 1300L Flexo Press with a 13˝ print width. The press is equipped with four die-cutting/converting stations and will demonstrate embossing and rotary hot stamping in addition to flexo printing. “We are pleased to be part of the new Technology Center and play a role in educating converters on the advantages of both narrow and mid-web printing and converting,” said Propheteer Marketing Director Mike Polkinghorne.
Martin Automatic’s Butt Splicer will also be displayed at the Narrow to Mid-Web Technology Center. The system includes a Martin inertia-compensated festoon system, a patented splice unit designed to provide a diagonal butt splice, and a two-position, cantilevered unwind featuring Martin’s patented lift-and-load system. The controls integrating these components are mounted in the equipment, allowing automatic roll unwinding, splicing, and tension control.
DMS, Inc. will be showcasing its FR Series High Speed Heavy Duty Rotary Hot Stamping and Heat Sealing System. Additionally, DMS, Inc. will demonstrate the performance capabilities and flexibility of its systems by running multiple and completely different processes during the show for a Foil Stamping application that also includes Rotary Embossing, and features DMS Precision Rotary Hot Stamping and Embossing Dies. Also, there will be a demonstration of a Heat Sealing application that will utilize DMS’ unique ColdPocket Precision Rotary Heat Sealing Die technology that features a continuous non-cavity hot and cold surface.
Alden & Ott Printing Ink will roll out its new G-3 Paper Inks at the Narrow To Mid-Web Converting Tech Center. Eliminating the need for press side additives, the G-3 Paper Ink system utilizes the latest advances in graphic arts raw materials. Alden & Ott will also be showing off its g-FORCE film ink system. The g-FORCE system runs more like paper ink, with good re-wet ability on screens, small type, and solids.
BST Pro Mark, a world-leading manufacturer of web inspection, guiding, and control systems for printing and converting, is the first to sign on for both centers and will be bringing its inspection solutions to both the Flexible Packaging Technology Center and the Narrow to Mid-Web Technology Center.
According to show management, the new Tech Center bridges the gap between narrow and mid-web printing converting. “The new Narrow To Mid-Web Technology Center fills a critical void in the marketplace as this is the only event where converters can see both narrow and mid-web jobs being produced on the show floor and then attend conference sessions that supplement their hands-on learning,” said Jim Enos, CMM show director.
In addition to the Narrow to Mid-Web Technology Center, CMM also has announced a new Flexible Packaging Technology Center that will feature a new Bobst/Schiavi electronic Flexo press, Comexi’s Solventless Laminator, Hudson Sharp’s new split-roll bag machine, a new Profama slitter/rewinder, an AirTrim advanced pneumatic trim system, BST Pro Mark inspection solutions, and a variety of other equipment from leading manufacturers.
